Privacy Policy

Hewn ("Hewn," "the App," "we," "us," or "our") is operated by Mighty Moore Labs, LLC ("the Company"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It pays special attention to families and children, because Hewn is built for family use.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. A Note for Parents and Guardians
Hewn is a family discipleship app. Accounts are created and controlled by an adult (a parent or guardian, 18 or older). The adult account holder sets up the family, adds family members — which may include teens and children — and manages what those members can see and do.
Teens aged 13 and older may have their own member access within the family. Children under 13 do not have accounts. Their information appears in the App only when a parent or guardian chooses to add it, and the parent or guardian controls it entirely.
We comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Any information about a child under 13 is provided by the parent or guardian who manages the family, and they can review, edit, or delete it at any time (see Section 8).
2. Information We Collect
Account information. Your name, email address, and a password (stored in encrypted form).
Family member information. Information you add about family members, including names, roles (e.g., parent, teen, child), and birthdays or ages. You choose what to enter.
Photos. Images you choose to upload, such as profile or onboarding photos.
Content you create. Content you create and store in the App, including prayer requests, journal entries, tasks, calendar events, reflections, and messages to family members. We store this so the App can function.
Usage and device information. Basic information about how the App is used — features opened, activities completed, and general device and app-performance data — to keep the App working and improve it.
Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We do not receive or store your payment card details. We receive confirmation of your subscription status only.
What we do not collect. We do not collect your precise location.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and operate the App and its features;
- Set up and manage your family and member profiles;
- Save and display the content you create;
- Generate devotional and prayer content (see Section 4);
- Send push notifications you've enabled;
- Process and manage your subscription;
- Keep the App secure and diagnose and fix problems;
- Communicate with you about the App;
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use family or children's information for advertising.
4. AI-Generated Content
Some features use artificial intelligence to create or personalize content. Where a feature personalizes content using information you've entered, that limited information may be sent to a third-party AI service provider that processes it on our behalf. We send only what is needed. Our AI provider is not permitted to use your information to train its own models. AI-generated content is provided for spiritual encouragement and is not a substitute for the guidance of a pastor, counselor, or other qualified professional.
5. How We Share Information
We share information only with service providers who process it solely to provide services to us:
- Supabase — database and hosting
- Lovable — application hosting
- Apple / Google — subscription and payment processing
- AI service provider — to generate devotional and prayer content
- Push notification provider — to deliver notifications you've enabled
We may also disclose information for legal reasons or in a business transfer. We do not sell or share information for advertising.
6. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete content or close your account, we delete or de-identify the associated personal information within a reasonable period, except where required by law.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of passwords and protected access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. Your Rights and Choices
You — and parents or guardians on behalf of children — can access, correct, or delete information in the App, or contact us at privacy@hewn.family. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights including the right to know what personal information we hold and to request its deletion.
9. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
The minimum age to have an account is 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Parents and guardians may at any time review, request deletion of, or refuse further collection of their child's information by contacting privacy@hewn.family.
10. International Users
The App is operated from the United States. If you use the App from outside the U.S., your information will be processed in the United States.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and provide notice within the App for material changes.
