Delete Your Hewn Account

In the app (fastest):

• Parents (dad/mom accounts): open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. If you are the family owner or the last parent in your family, deleting your account deletes your entire family (see below) — the confirmation screen tells you this before you confirm.
• Teen accounts: open Settings → Account → Request account deletion. Because teen accounts are part of a parent-managed family, this sends the request to your parents, who approve or decline it. When a parent approves, the account and all of its content are permanently removed.
• Parents can also remove any family member: open Settings → Family, tap the member, then tap Remove and confirm.

By email: email privacy@hewn.family with the subject "Delete my account" from the email address on your Hewn account. We process email requests within 30 days.

When your individual account is deleted, we permanently delete:

• Your sign-in (email and credentials)
• Your profile and profile photo — including the stored photo file itself
• Your personal content: personal prayers, journal and reflection entries (including hub reflections in Rampart, Haven, Forge, and Bloom), personal tasks, notification settings, and device push registrations

When an entire family is deleted — a parent deletes the family, or the family owner or last parent deletes their account — we permanently delete everything above for every member, plus all family data: the shared calendar, family tasks and chores, meals and grocery lists, family prayer lists, messages between family members, family photos (including the stored files), and all member accounts and logins. Other family members lose access immediately.

• If you leave a family that continues to exist, content you shared with your family — such as family prayers you added, calendar events you created, or meals you added to the family library — remains with the family. Your name is removed from attribution.
• Tasks you created for other family members remain with the family so their to-dos aren't lost.

• Backups: deleted data may persist in encrypted database backups for up to 30 days before those backups are purged on a rolling schedule.
• Diagnostic logs: system logs that may reference your account are automatically purged on a rolling basis within 90 days.
• Purchase records: subscription and transaction records are retained as required for tax and accounting purposes by Apple, Google, and our payment processors. We never store your payment card details.

Deleting your Hewn account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription — subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google, not by us. Cancel in your device's subscription settings (on iPhone: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions) before or after deleting your account to stop billing.
